Where Haruhi goes, trouble follows!

The two storylines from The Disassociation of Haruhi Suzumiya continue, introducing a new inductee into the S.O.S. brigade who may be more than just the eager freshman she appears to be. As the two realities converge, the SOS Brigade learns that the new member may have the ability to bring the two story “timelines” together… and save the world in the process.

This book was originally published as two separate volumes in Japan, but the U.S. version will feature both volumes for the price of one.

From the Yen Press site:

Koizumi and his fellows from the Agency are constantly cooking up ways to gently (*ahem*) encourage romantic feelings between Kyon and Haruhi, but Koizumi’s holiday board game tests the very limit of Haruhi and Kyon’s acting abilities! Thankfully there’s plenty of other holiday fun to be had, including the many fine offerings of autumn and the dawn of a new year (spent dodging Koizumi’s machinations)!!

Diamond Comics, the largest comic book distributor serving North America, published some months ago their lists of Top 50 Manga Graphic Novels for January and June of 2013. In this list, The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-Chan Vol.3 published by Yen Press is ranked 7th, a very high improvement compared to volumes 1 & 2.

Regarding the 4th volume, which was released in May, I couldn’t find the list for that month, but the lists of June place it in position 48.

Volume 5 is scheduled for release in February, 2014.
