Diamond Comics, the largest comic book distributor serving North America, published some months ago their lists of Top 50 Manga Graphic Novels for January and June of 2013. In this list, The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-Chan Vol.3 published by Yen Press is ranked 7th, a very high improvement compared to volumes 1 & 2.

Regarding the 4th volume, which was released in May, I couldn’t find the list for that month, but the lists of June place it in position 48.

Volume 5 is scheduled for release in February, 2014.

From the Yen Press site:

As the second year of high school begins, Haruhi’s cynical and sarcastic confidant Kyon, the only “normal” member of the SOS Brigade, finds himself meeting Sasaki, an old friend from his days in junior high. Haruhi and Sasaki’s shared friendship with Kyon and, possibly, shared abilities, causes tension between the two, and Kyon knows Haruhi’s dissatisfaction can have dire consequences! Kyon and Sasaki’s chance meeting could affect his future, the future of the SOS Brigade, and the world forever.

crowdfunding rejected!!

Waaaaaa!!!

Anime Project, the Spanish company who was trying to attract fundings with a crowdfunding model to license the first season of Suzumiya Haruhi on Blu-ray, had to face a negative of Kadokawa. The reason? The people of Kadokawa is still in the 20th century and don’t like their precious series being licensed that way. And just like that, negociations were broken. A pity. Anime Project is going to try with their second option, Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagan. One of the comments on their facebook page says bitterly: “Making deals with those Japanese guys should be an Olympic event.”

The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi

Biglobe loves polls. This time it was about the favorite Kyoto Animation anime, and The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi got the 5th place. The series is still strong!!

This is the ranking and the votes for each series.
1. Hyouka (516)
2. Clannad ~After Story~ (465)
3. K-On!! (387)
4. K-On! (384)
5. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (333)
6. Clannad (310)
7. Chunibyo Demo Koi ga Shitai! (251)
8. My Ordinary Life (237)
9. Air (213)
10. Lucky Star (200 votes)
11. Kanon (165 votes)
12. Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu (148)
13. Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid (114)
14. Sora wo Miageru Shoujo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai. (43)

I can’t believe that crap called Air was ranked better than the awesome series Kanon or Fumoffu. At least Haruhi is still in a good position. Inspecting the list, some series are just the second season, so the real winner would be Clannad, second place would be K-on, third place Hyouka and fourth place our Haruhi. That makes much better sense, don’t you think?
