Haruhi-chan Nano Branch

Haruhi-chan Nano Branch

Ok. I’ve decided to finish this series off. I hate to not finish something. Should actually be pretty easy now that I look at it. It’ll be kind of a rush-job, so I may not do as good of a job, though. Why? It’s simply not as good of a series. Or rather, I don’t like it very much. I don’t think the stories were all that funny compared to Haruhi-chan actual. So that said, I’m going to typeset all of these and release them all in one bundle. Should only take a couple hours.

Nagato is sick… Her friends come over to take care of her.

Anyway, folks, Volume 9 comes out in October, so of course, no new chapters until at least then (provided I can find scans). As always, thanks for reading and keeping your interest in the series. I may still post things, but… we’ll see. I need to prepare for the next stage of my life, though. Like I said before, I will be shipped off to training in a couple weeks, and I’ve been putting off some work I need to do.

Respectfully,

Calculuswhiz

We all know Google Translate is bad at Japanese, but just how bad is it? I decided to run the previous chapter (62) through Google Translate, and this is the result. Here are the rules:

  1. Put all text (SFX too) verbatim into Google Translate. (Japanese⇒English)
  2. If a sentence is split across bubbles, do not combine them.
  3. All translations must be copied verbatim into the speech bubbles.

Hello, everyone!

After the Christmas party, it’s the start of the new year!  The gang heads out for a shrine visit (JP: hatsumoude).

New Year, new volume, new chapter! I also recruited someone to help me out:  Praetors is my new teammate. Big thank you.

Hello, everyone!

I’m back from my break, so I’m ready to start up again. So far, I’ve completed the draft text files for the translation part, but that’s about it. Thanks for your patience. Next chapter will be out hopefully before too long!

Yup, you guessed it. Another chapter. Kyon wants to do something with Yuki on Sunday? What could it be?

I hate cleaning  x_x  It takes so long to do, but I spend all day on it anyway. There’s a lot of non-black-on-white text in this volume… I hope I don’t burn out. (But there’s a really good part coming up in a few chapters, and I want to get to it.)

Which brings me to my next issue:  I think it’s time I looked for a teammate. Specifically for cleaning. So…

Potential cleaner job description:

  • Knows his/her way around GIMP or Photoshop. (Preferably GIMP, but I can open .psd files.)
  • Removing text and redrawing backgrounds will be your primary job. You do not have to be totally perfect. Remember that text with a 3-px outline will go over these parts anyway. However, I expect good quality work. If it’s too difficult, you can let me know, and we’ll figure something out.
  • Works quickly. Ideally, <24 hours per assignment. I reserve the right to pre-empt you if you work too slowly. I will not wait. Work will be split as I see fit. I also reserve the right to let you go if you don’t do a good job.
  • Your term will end when volume 8 is completed, as we’ll have to wait for volume 9 to be released. However, you will be considered first when that happens.
  • Will not have to take care of leveling, black-on-white text removal, or error-splotches. I can do that.
  • As you know, this is a non-profit free group. Obviously, you won’t be paid.
  • Terms subject to change.
